"I had heard for many years that DeKalb Technical College was an excellent school to work for and that the school had a very professional environment—it was just the type college I was looking to work for. I have been with DeKalb Technical College 24.5 years.
Working in the President’s Office, as well as the Human Resources area, calls for the unit to be professional and very customer service focused. I find it very invigorating to work in this area as the activity level is high and it reminds one of Las Vegas—non-stop action everyday you are at work. I enjoy working in this area as it offers a great deal of variety which fulfills my professional needs.
I have the opportunity to meet a wide variety of individuals seeking employment at DTC, collaborate with the Director of Human Resources on a number of projects related to DTC employees, work extensively with Dean’s and Vice Presidents, and work directly with the President on numerous tasks. Working directly with the President allows me to meet a number of individuals with the community and state that I would not have the opportunity to meet were I not working in this area. This position also affords me the opportunity to attend meetings, conferences, and training venues which enhance my skills and allow me to put forth my best effort in the workplace.
