Dr. Tanya Gorman, Vice President for Academic Affairs

"The Academic Affairs unit delivers and ensures timely, appropriate, and effective credit program instruction and adult literacy services to prepare individuals for competent performance in the work environment.  This unit is also responsible for Institutional Effectiveness and Research. Instruction is the foundation and life blood of the College – instruction and learning is our business.  Faculty and staff in Academic Affairs are focused on this business and strive every day to effect learning outcomes and student success.

I joined the team at DeKalb Tech a short time after I moved to the Atlanta area.  Since joining the family at DeKalb Technical College, I have found that every day is an adventure and growth opportunity for me.  It is truly the most challenging and rewarding professional experience I have been afforded in my career.

Career opportunities exist for a variety of individuals who would like to be affiliated with the collegiate experience.  Individuals may find available full-time and part-time faculty positions, student learning support positions, and staff support positions.  These opportunities provide careers that have a direct impact on students, the learning process, programs offered, the communities served, and the College.

I have a commitment to, and support the business of, the College by making sure that Academic Affairs offers quality programs and services that foster student success."
