Students desiring to withdraw from classes for any reason must secure the proper Withdrawal Form from the Registrar’s Office. This form must be completed and returned to the Registrar’s Office. The day the completed form is received by that office is the official date of withdrawal. Students who are not formally withdrawn from a class are liable for all fees and associated expenses. Students having an emergency situation such as illness, accident, or death in the immediate family should contact the Registrar’s Office as soon as possible. A STOP PAYMENT ON A CHECK DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A FORMAL WITHDRAWAL NOR DOES IT CANCEL THE STUDENT’S FINANCIAL OBLIGATION. An outstanding balance consisting of these fees plus a returned check fee will still be owed to DeKalb Tech. A “Business Office Hold” will be placed on the student’s record. Students with a “Business Office Hold” on their record will not be permitted to register for further coursework, receive financial aid, receive or have forwarded to external third parties any transcripts of grades until the financial obligation has been paid. Fee Refunds If a student registers for a class beginning other than the scheduled first day of the quarter and subsequently withdraws, the student will be entitled to a 100% tuition refund through the first scheduled class day for that course. If a student withdraws beyond the first scheduled class day, he or she will be entitled to a 75% refund for the next seven consecutive calendar days. There will be no refund beyond the seven-day period. |
