3. What is the difference between credit programs and non-credit programs?
Credit programs are classes that lead to a degree, diploma, or certificate of completion in an area of study. Credit program students are required to follow college admissions procedures. Students may qualify for the HOPE Grant or other funding. Non-credit programs, or continuing education courses, are courses that allow students to learn about a specific subject in a shorter period of time. Continuing education units (CEUs) are issued for these programs. Non-credit programs may include scheduled continuing education classes or customized training. Students or the employer pay for the non-credit classes.
