Development and Approval of Policies and Procedures

DeKalb Technical College and the Local Board of Directors support and comply with the policies and procedures of the State Board of Technical and Adult Education. In cases where the State Policy and Procedures Manual is silent or the Local Board deems additional clarification is needed at the local level, appropriate policies and procedures will be developed and approved by the Local Board of Directors and implemented by the College.

The President is the principal designated official for the implementation of the Technical College System of Georgia policies and procedures. The primary responsibility for proposing College policies rests with the President; however, policies may be proposed by any member of the Board or by a staff member with the approval of the President.

The President shall regularly review the policies and make recommendations to the Local Board, in writing, for new policies or changes. Policy proposals shall be submitted to the Board, through the President, prior to a regularly scheduled meeting of the Board.

Under the direction of the President, it is the responsibility of the administration and the faculty to administer and implement policy.
