III. M. DeKalb Technical
College
Employee Grievance Procedure

DeKalb Technical College recognizes the need for a consistent process for resolution of
non-disciplinary employment concerns for employees in the unclassified service.
DeKalb Technical College follows the guidelines provided by the Technical College System of
Georgia for addressing workplace grievances.
The Technical College System of Georgia’s Grievance procedures provide employees
a guideline for expressing concerns about employment. The procedure does not
compromise the rights of management to direct the workforce in accomplishing
the agency mission. This process is not applicable to disciplinary matters and
does not alter the employment at-will relationship between the agency and its
at-will employees.
The President has
designated the Director of the Office of Human Resources as the DeKalb
Technical College Employee Grievance Coordinator responsible for receiving
grievances, determining grievability, and tracking the processing of
grievances.
The President has designated the Vice President of
Student Affairs as the Agency Grievance Review Official to conduct grievance
reviews for unclassified employees.
Student Grievances are
processed through academic channels or to the Vice President of Student
Affairs, depending on the nature of the grievance.
