Drug-Free Workplace

In accordance with the Technical College System of Georgia’s  policy III.O, Drug-Free Workplace, DeKalb Technical College has developed the following policy to ensure that  no employee, student, or visitor may engage in the unlawful manufacture, possession, or distribution of illicit drugs or alcohol on property of DeKalb Technical College or as part of any activity or event sponsored by DeKalb Technical College. Such unlawful activity will be considered sufficient grounds for serious punitive action, including possible suspension or dismissal.

An employee arrested or convicted (including a plea of nolo contendere) of violating any criminal drug statute must notify the Director of Human Resources in writing of each arrest or conviction within five (5) days.

As a condition of employment, each employee must certify in writing that they have read and will abide by the terms of the Drug Free Workplace policy of the Technical College System of Georgia.
