Instructor-Initiated Withdrawal

Any student whose name appears on the Banner Web Class roster who has not attended class during the first five (5) days of the quarter will be withdrawn by the instructor as a “no show” through the electronic No Show Program.  A student reporting to class for the first time whose absences already exceed the number allowed for the class will not be admitted.  Once reported as a no show, the student’s name will be removed from the instructor.

The Withdrawal Form is used by the student or by the instructor to withdraw from class(es). It is used by the instructor whenever a student has violated an instructional policy and should not return.  Instructors should award a “W” grade to any student who has not attended the class after the mid-term of the quarter unless that student has completed sufficient work to earn a passing grade or stopped attending after the mid-term of the quarter while doing unsatisfactory work (“WF”).

The Withdrawal Form is completed by the instructor and returned to the Registrar's Office for processing no later than five (5) days after the student's violation warrants the withdrawal.

Students have the right to appeal an instructor-initiated withdrawal.  A student who has initiated an appeal shall be permitted to continue attending class pending the outcome of the appeal.
