DeKalb Technical College receives keys to new buildings
A monumental milestone in the life of DeKalb Technical College was met in late October. The keys to the new buildings at the Clarkston Campus were handed over from the builder to Dr. Robin Hoffman, President. “These keys open doors that will provide a multitude of new educational opportunities for DeKalb Technical College students,” exclaims Dr. Hoffman. “It has taken more than 20 years of dreaming, strategizing, negotiating, planning, and praying to bring us to this day.”

The new 75,000 sq. ft. educational facility and 20,000 sq. ft. conference center located at 495 North Indian Creek Dr., Clarkston, was built by The Facility Group as a design-build project and came in ahead of schedule and under budget. Programs planned for the educational building include general education, computer information systems, and business technology, as well as the Learning Resource Center and academic administrative offices. The Georgia State Finance and Investment Commission is the organization fiscally responsible for the building.
DeKalb Technical College is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia offering degrees, diplomas, and certificates with over 120 programs of study, continuing education for the community, business and industry customized training, and joint and dual enrollment for high school students. The conference center will be open for large and small meetings and special events. There will be a ribbon cutting and grand opening for the public on Monday, January 7, 2008.
