Law Enforcement Academy Pursued by DeKalb Technical College

DeKalb Technical College is currently and actively involved in a cooperative multi agency statewide endeavor to change the future in law enforcement training in Georgia.  “We are confident that the College will be given every consideration to be chosen as one of the pilot program sites,” says Beverly Thomas, lead instructor for Criminal Justice.
It is projected that pilot locations at local technical colleges will be chosen by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) in May of 2008 and that the implementation of these programs will begin by the first of next year.  “As everyone in the field is aware, the local area is in great need of additional law enforcement training sites and services,” continues Thomas.  “DeKalb Technical College is striving to help meet that need.”

DeKalb Technical College plans to participate in the project, in whatever role that is afforded, to meet the needs of the College’s service area.
