Linda West Appointed to Elite Team of Course Technology Innovative Instructor

Linda West, faculty member in the Computer Information Systems Department at DeKalb Technical College, was recently appointed to serve as a member of the Course Technology Innovative Instructors (CTII) team.  West joins an elite inaugural group of instructors who are promoted as being part of the Course Technology program and marketing efforts.  Course Technology Innovative Instructors (CTTIs) are established instructors who can help Course Technology customers design innovative approaches to teaching the current technologies.  West  helps instructors understand and learn the latest technologies, determine how to integrate them into their courses and curricula, and provide courseware solutions that make their lives easier.

  Ms. West teaches at the Clarkston and Covington Campuses of DeKalb Technical College as well as online classes.  Aside from teaching Ms. West duties include adjunct faculty coordination and training, curriculum development, and assessment of teaching methodologies.  She received her B. S. degree from Georgia State University where she later continued graduate studies in the field of education.  She has been certified as a Microsoft Office User Specialist at the Master Level and achieved recognition as an authorized instructor in Microsoft Office.

Linda West’s academic career spanning more than 30 years  encompasses a multiplicity of learning environments in both public and private educational institutions.  Her interest in continual improvement of delivery methods for instruction to various audiences led her to her present position.  She is scheduled to present “Pathway to Success: Retaining Diverse Populations in Preliminary Computer Classes”  at a national conference in May.
