Renowned Artist Displays at Covington Campus of DeKalb Technical College
The Spring Art Collection of artist Samuel O. Williams is currently on display in the atrium of the Covington Campus of DeKalb Technical College on Alcovy Road.
Williams is a native of historic Tuskegee Institute, Alabama, and received his education in both private and public schools and universities in Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, New York, and Wisconsin. He is a recipient of the Beaux-Art Scholarship, the National Dance Institute Scholarship, the Bronze Jubilee Award “Long Term Contribution to the Arts,” and the distinguished Alabama Artist Award.
Williams has been called a man of the Renaissance by his peers. He is a dancer, choreographer, painter, sculptor, set designer, author, and vocalist. He has performed and exhibited his works of art throughout the Southeast.
“My works of art combine the intellectual with the emotional, blending cognitive and the affective domain, thus provoking the observers to think,” explains Williams.
The Collection on display may be seen during regular DeKalb Technical College hours of operation. For additional information on possible exhibitions, performances, speaking engagements, or price listings, please contact Mr. Williams at 404-630-5993 or 770-482-6156.
