What is more befitting than for the Student Government Association of DeKalb Technical College, composed of elected officers and members from the student body, to learn more about government from a couple of heavy hitters in Georgia politics?
The Student Government Association of DeKalb Technical College’s Covington and Clarkston Campuses visited the Georgia State Capitol, during the 2007 Legislative Session, to attend a private leadership training session with Representative Doug Holt and to meet with Governor Sonny Purdue.

The Student Government Association, or SGA, as it is typically referred to on campus, plays a vital role in campus life at DeKalb Technical College. Being one of several Student Clubs and Organizations offered on campus, the SGA purpose is to serve as an organized voice for the students, showing leadership and proposing new ideas to help benefit student and campus life. SGA helps to facilitate an open line of communication between the student body, faculty, staff and surrounding communities. Student Activity Volunteer Extraordinaire (SAVE) is comprised of students interested in assisting the Student Government Association with hosting on-campus activities.
