DeKalb Technical College Announces New Professional Programs at Covington Campus
Start your new career in less than one year. DeKalb Technical College announces new technical certificates of credit (TCC) being offered at the Covington Campus. Technical Certificates of Credit take between one and three quarters to complete and lead to careers in fields ripe for employment.
New Technical Certificates of Credit being offered include Financial and Investment Services; Information Security Specialist; and Nail Technician.
The Information Security Specialist TCC is designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, principles, and techniques required in the field of computer information system security. Graduates are qualified for employment as information security specialists in a variety of environments including business and industrial firms, financial institutions, government agencies, software developers, health providers, and internet service providers. Once students complete the Information Security Specialist certificate, they will have the necessary skills and training to pass the CompTIA Security+ certification.
The Nail Technician TCC is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in the field of Nail Technician. Learning opportunities develop academic and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes specialized training in safety, sanitation, state laws, rules, and regulations, nail diseases and disorders, skin and nail care, and work ethics. The curriculum meets state licensing requirements of the State Board of Cosmetology. Program graduates receive a Nail Technician certificate and are employable as a Nail Technician.
Registration deadline for Fall Quarter 2007 is August 20, 2007. These programs and others are also offered at DeKalb Technical College’s Clarkston Campus.
