The following list of clubs, honor societies, and other organizations are available to students. Other clubs may be organized through the Student Government Association. Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) advocates superior leadership and education in Information Technology. AITP uses the synergy of Information Technology partnerships to provide education and benefits to its members, and to working with the industry to assist in the overall promotion and direction of Information Technology. Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) has as its purpose the promotion of interest in marketing and distribution of goods and services. Business and students work together to learn collectively, engage in state and national competition, and plan for further careers. Delta Epsilon Chi is associated with Distributive Education Clubs of America, Junior College Division. International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) assists career-oriented business students in developing a better understanding of the office profession and the business world. IAAP was organized to stimulate interest in lifetime careers and advancement opportunities as administrative support personnel and to provide opportunities for interaction among students, educators, and business professionals. It is sponsored by the DeKalb Chapter of International Association of Administrative Professionals. Inter Club Council (ICC) is comprised of all club presidents of the student organizations. They meet quarterly to discuss ideas and make suggestions for student activities. International Students Club (ISC) represents enrolled international students and provides a forum to voice their needs and concerns to the International Student Advisors. ISC plans and sponsors events that unite international students, promote cultural diversity, and provide leadership training for international students. Mu Lambda Tau (MLT) enables students to further their knowledge of Medical Laboratory Technology and to encourage their participation in local, state, regional, and national professional organizations. Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) helps to prepare students for careers in business, entrepreneurial, or business-related fields. Its purpose is to promote interest in the field of business and it develops leadership qualities in students preparing for business careers The DeKalb Technical College Chess Club (DTCCC) promotes the advancement of chess at DeKalb Tech by appropriate means, including but not limited to holding regular meetings, the organization of tournaments, teaching chess in local schools, and sending teams to major intercollegiate and amateur tournaments. SkillsUSA is an organization for trade, industrial, technical, and health occupation students. It offers leadership, citizenship, and character development programs to complete skill training. SkillsUSA members work together to improve the College, the work place, and the community. They also have an opportunity to compete in local, state, and national skill Olympics for recognition and achievement awards in their chosen occupational skills. Student Sugerical Technologist (SST) is a student chapter associated with the local chapter of the Association of Surgical Technologist. It was organized to network students in the Surgical Technology Program with Certified Surgical Technologists working in the field in local hospitals.
