Library Services

Library Services is an integral part of DeKalb Technical College’s commitment to improve the community’s economic growth by preparing students for employment through technical education. The educational process will provide students with knowledge, occupational skills, and lifelong learning skills to prepare them for success in an ever-changing work environment. It is the mission of Library Services to support the teaching and research activities of the college’s faculty and administrators, and the information needs of its students. Library Services will accomplish this mission by providing quality information services and resources.

DeKalb Technical College students have access to library services at the Learning Resource Center on the Clarkston Campus and at the John R. Williams Learning Resource Center on the Covington Campus. Access is provided to books, compact disks, records, non-print items, and periodical titles. Services include study areas, photocopy machines, interlibrary loan, and point-of-use instruction. Computers are equipped with GALILEO (Georgia Library Learning Online), Microsoft Office, instructional software, and Internet access. Professional librarians are on duty at the Learning Resource Centers, and services are available Monday through Friday. Students must present a current validated student I.D. in order to borrow materials.
