New student orientation may be presented via lecture, the web, on CDs, or in a paper format. Orientation is offered for new students each quarter as a process for welcoming students to the campus, introducing campus personnel, and explaining the general services available while attending DeKalb Tech. Also, guidance for new students includes:
A. Information on technical and educational opportunities, personal and social development, and orientation to DeKalb Tech.
B. Assessment services for academic placement, student aptitude, achievement, and interests.
C. Consultation with other Student Services and academic advisors who assist students with planning for future education or a job search.
D. Research and evaluation of guidance and other Student Services programs.
E. Guidance to facilitate personal development and decision-making.
F. Coordination of services to international students.
G. Guidance for the special needs of students with disabilities.
