Student Affairs & Advisory Council

Student Affairs
Student Affairs is designed to support the instructional process and thereby foster student growth and development. In collaboration with faculty, staff, and administration, Student Affairs provides valuable programs and services which complement the educational and life skill needs of students. Student Affairs at DeKalb Tech includes Admissions, Student Activities, Special Services, Registration, Career and Job Search Services, Adult Literacy Services, Special Workforce Services, the New Connections To Work Program, and the Georgia Fatherhood Program.

Student Affairs Advisory Council
DeKalb Tech students have direct participation in the decision-making process. Challenges for students are often discussed at bi-monthly meetings of the Student Affairs Advisory Council. The Council, chaired by the Vice President of Student Affairs, consists of the President of the Student Government Association from each campus, the manager from each area of Student Affairs, and an Academic Dean from each campus. The Council provides a forum where students can gainfully interact with Student Affairs managers and Academic Deans for purposes of problem-solving. The Council enables students to bring their concerns directly to administrators who are engaged in daily operations, and it encourages them to discuss factors which can impact their progress at DeKalb Tech.
