DeKalb Technical College provides many opportunities for its students to excel; I made myself available to as many as possible. Working closely with my Academic Advisor assisted me in planning the most efficient strategy to obtaining the degree I desired. Active involvement in campus organizations – IAAP and PBL – expanded my horizons further than I imagined. Opening up to criticism was another major factor to my success; understanding that faculty and staff are here to power up potential took me places.
My top three tips for success are as follows:
-
Utilize the Academic Advisors; they are here to help you have the smoothest possible experience.
-
Get actively involved in campus organizations; the many different clubs offered accommodate various interests.
-
Always do your best; someone is watching who can open doors for you!
