Underground Construction & Building Pad
August turned into a wet month which caused reduced work activities on nine days; however, much has been accomplished. Most of the underground construction of the storm sewers and other utilities has been completed for the classroom building. The same work for the multipurpose building has been held up awaiting authorities approving a plan to deal with the 18” storm drain found unexpectedly running under the building location. |

It appears that the solution for this problem will cost an estimated $90,000, which will have to come from the contingency fund held by the contractor. This problem is expected to be resolved to a point where work can proceed by the second week of September. |
If all goes well, within the next thirty days we should see the curbing and base material for the front parking area completed and the pad poured for the classroom building. Before the pad is poured, over 100 loads of dirt must be trucked in to raise the pad area from 6 to 3 feet so that the floor of the new building matches up with our existing “A” building. Toward the end of October or first of November, we should see the structural steel being erected.
