TESTING
COMPASS Placement: All persons applying for admission to a credit program
are required to take the COMPASS placement test unless they have satisfactory
scores on the SAT, ACT, CPE, ASSET, COMPASS or appropriate transfer credits
from another postsecondary institution. Applicants will be notified by mail
when to take the COMPASS placement test which includes English, reading,
and mathematics. Its purpose is to determine if a prospective student needs
additional basic skills courses before beginning a planned program of study.
Placement test scores are subject to change by DeKalb Tech without notice. Transfer students are responsible
for checking with Admissions to see if they need additional testing. There will be a $35 fee for non-DeKalb
Tech students who take the COMPASS test.
