A LATE REGISTRATION with a $30
late registration fee and a Drop/Add session with a $20 drop/add fee will be held on March 31 and April 1, 2008. If needed, computer labs are available for registration purposes in Room A-213 at the Clarkston Campus and in Room B-216 at the Covington-Newton Campus. See below. |
SCHEDULE CHANGES ($20 DROP/ADD FEE) AND
LATE REGISTRATION ($30 LATE FEE)
A. If it becomes necessary to change a schedule,
a student may drop and/or add courses on Monday, March 31 , 2008
or Tuesday, April 1, 2008. A DROP/ADD FEE of twenty dollars ($20) is charged each quarter to every full-time and part-time student taking credit courses that needs to drop and/or add a course(s).
1. A student may drop or drop/add the same course
without being advised.
2. A student adding different courses must be advised.
B. A student who missed
the scheduled registration may register late at this time with a
$30.00 late registration fee.
C. A senior citizen may register at this time
with a waiver of tuition fees and late registration fee.

The last day for a schedule change (drop/add) or a late registration
for day and evening and Saturday classes is
Tuesday, April 1, 2008.
STUDENT PICTURE I.D.
DeKalb Tech students are required to wear and/or clearly display their student identification (ID) badges while on campus
at all times. Campus visitors must do the same with a temporary ID that can be obtained from the Campus Information Center.
Students and campus visitors who refuse to wear and/or clearly display their ID after being approached by a DeKalb Tech
official will be asked to leave the campus.
Student I.D. pictures are made on New Student Registration day(s), Drop-Add day(s), and other scheduled dates. Refer to
the class schedule for registration and drop-add dates.
Every student I.D. must be validated each quarter. This can be accomplished in the Office of Student Activities on the
Clarkston Campus Monday, Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, 10:00 a.m.
to 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.. No ID’s taken on Friday. The Information Office on the Covington Campus is open
for ID validation on Monday & Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To
replace a lost ID, contact the Office of Student Activities on the Clarkston Campus and the Information Office on the Covington
Campus. There is a $5.00 charge for replacing a lost I.D.
CLASS ATTENDANCE POLICY
Students enrolled in college programs are preparing themselves for
direct entry into gainful employment. Employers' state that the main
characteristic sought in potential employees is dependability and
punctuality. The importance of student attendance is emphasized at
DeKalb Technical College and all students are expected to be present
and prompt for all class sessions. Therefore,
students may be subject to dismissal from individual classes or the
college for excessive absences.
At the beginning of each quarter, instructors must define absentee
limits for the students in each course.
A student may be withdrawn from a course after exceeding the maximum
number of absences allowed by the instructor, unless the final absence
falls within the last 10 days of the quarter, in which case the student
will receive an "F". Student dismissal for excessive absences
will be a joint decision made by the instructor, the Department Head,
and the Dean of Instruction.
ABSENT OR PRESENT, STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ASSIGNED WORK
IN EACH CLASS.
