Upon acceptance to DeKalb Technical College, you will
be entered into our database and your student e-mail account will
be created. Your account includes Internet e-mail access both on and
off-campus through Outlook Exchange. You may also configure your account
through your home computer using Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express.
Outlook Express is the default email program included when Internet
Explorer is installed.
When your account is assigned, a number of responsibilities must
be assumed, including knowledge of appropriate college policies and
procedures. Please read the email and computer policy information.
By utilizing this account, you agree to abide by DTC's policies whether
you read them or not and will lose your account privileges if
you fail to comply.
All uses of college IT resources are subject to applicable rules,
policies and procedures of the school, DTAE, and governing boards;
as well as Georgia Statutes governing computer fraud, misuse of state
equipment resources, public information, and related criminal offenses.
Student user names are generated using the first letter of your first
name, the first letter of your last name, and the last four digits
of your student ID number. Example: the user name for John Lee Doe,
student ID # 123456789 would be jd6789. NOTE: If you were enrolled as a student prior to Summer Quarter 2004, your user name will contain the last 4 digits of your SSN instead of your new ID#. If you do not know your student ID number, click here for instructions.
To access your account through the web, open Internet Explorer (not
Netscape) and type https://student.dekalbtech.org/exchange
in the address window then press Enter to access the Outlook
Web Access home page.
On the Outlook Web Access page, enter your user name in the box next
to Log On and press Enter. Then type in your user name,
default password, and student as the domain name (if domain
name box is present) in the appropriate boxes. It is recommended that
you change your password the first time you log in. To do this you
will need to click Options at the left of the page. Then select
Change Password. Click

Your account will remain active as long as your application is current.
If you have not been enrolled at DeKalb Tech for three consecutive
quarters, your application and your e-mail account will expire.
Your mailbox will be limited to 3 MB of space, so remember to clean
out your old e-mail regularly as your account will be frozen if you
exceed this limit.
