The staff in the Office of Career & Job Search Services assists in matching DeKalb Tech's students with employment opportunities. Students, as well as community residents, are provided with full- and part-time job listings received from local businesses and other organizations. Employment openings are also accessible through the Internet via a bank of computers available for use by job-seekers.

Through workshops and one-on-one coaching, individuals are instructed on the job search skills necessary to effectively enter the "world of work" and to cultivate a successful career. Coaching is provided in such job-related topics as writing resumes, preparing for interviews, creating a professional image, negotiating salaries, and career advancement.

Solid partnerships with employers are developed by aiding them in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of well-qualified employees. Employers are encouraged to conduct on-site recruiting activities as frequently as needed. These activities may include interviewing on-campus, making presentations on their specific organizations, or facilitating workshops on career-related subjects for students.

DeKalb Technical College's typical placement rate reflects that at least 94% of our graduates are employed in their primary or related fields of study.
