Transcript Requests
The Registrar's Office charges a processing fee of $5.00 for each
official transcript requested in writing by a student. An official
transcript bears the Seal of DeKalb Technical College and is not issued
to students. Unofficial transcripts are available
on the Web. For instructions on obtaining an unofficial transcript,
go to the Current Students
page and select View &
Print Grades.
Please see the Transcript Request page for further information.
Withdrawal and Refund of Student Fees
Students desiring to withdraw from classes for any reason must secure
the proper Withdrawal Form from the Registrar's Office (Room A-101,
Clarkston Campus and A-206, Covington-Newton Campus). This Form must
be completed and returned to the Registrar's Office. The day the completed
form is received by the Registrar's Office is the official date of
withdrawal.
If a student registers and never attends class (no-show) but does
not formally withdraw from class, the student is liable for all class
fees and associated expenses.
Students having an emergency situation such as illness, accident,
or death in the immediate family should contact the Registrar's Office
as soon as possible. A Stop Payment on a check does not constitute
a formal withdrawal nor does it cancel the student's financial obligation.
An outstanding balance consisting of these fees plus a returned check
fee will still be owed to DeKalb Tech. A "Business Office Hold" will
be placed on the student's record. Students with a Business Office
Hold on their record will not be permitted to register for further
coursework, receive financial aid, receive or have forwarded to external
third parties any transcripts of grades until the financial obligation
has been paid.
Fee Refunds
All tuition and fees, excluding the application fees, will be refunded
if a student formally withdraws before the first day of any quarter.
If a student withdraws within seven consecutive calendar days, he or she is eligible for a 100% refund of tuition only
paid during the scheduled Drop-Add/Late Registration period for that
quarter. A withdrawing student is eligible for a 75% refund of tuition
only paid for the remainder of the seven consecutive calendar days.
No portion of any miscellaneous fees paid shall be refunded during
this seven-day refund period. The late registration fee is non-refundable.
A student who withdraws from a course or courses beyond the eighth
calendar day of the quarter will not be entitled to a refund.
For additional information check the online Catalog for Course
Withdrawal and/or School
Withdrawal.
See the quarterly Schedule of Classes (printed copy) for the detailed
Refund/Withdrawal Schedule.
Request to Audit
A student desiring to "Audit" must secure the proper Request to Audit
Form from the Registrar's Office (Room A-101, Clarkston Campus or
A-206 Covington-Newton Campus) prior to the mid-point of any quarter.
The Request to Audit Form must be completed and returned to the Registrar's
Office by the mid-point of any quarter. An Audit Symbol is given with
the permission of the Instructor and the Registrar. It is not permissible
to change from Audit to Credit.
See the quarterly Schedule of Classes (printed copy) for the Request
to Audit deadline.
