Step 2: Receive your Financial Aid
FINALIZE YOUR AWARDS
After you apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) you may be required to submit additional documentation. The Student Financial Services Office at DeKalb Technical College will notify you of the forms or requirements needed to complete your financial aid file. You are able to print these forms and/or requirements from the link listed below:

After your application is received, the Student Financial Services Office will send you an award letter in the mail. Your award letter may be estimated and may include the missing information needed in order to complete your file. Please review your award letter carefully and submit any documentation that is needed to finalize your awards.
You must also review the award provisions in order to ensure that you meet all eligibility requirements for the aid that was awarded to you. Please read the Important Information About Your Awards*.
RECEIVE YOUR FINANCIAL AID DISBURSEMENT
If you have been awarded the HOPE Book Grant or Scholarship, it will be necessary for you to complete the HOPE Book Voucher Form*. You must first attend class and have your instructors sign this form.
Federal PELL Grant and Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) are disbursed to your student account after the 6th week of classes each quarter. If you drop or withdraw from classes before the 6th week of class, you may not be eligible for the entire scheduled disbursement.
